A healthcare-native consulting firm.
We take on the revenue cycle problems most firms would rather avoid, from automation work to recovering after a downtime event.
Transforming Healthcare Revenue Cycle Operations
Amelior was founded because health systems kept hiring consultants who ran standard playbooks against clinical and financial operations that don't fit a standard playbook. We were built to do the opposite.
We work only in healthcare revenue cycle. The work combines automation engineering, process redesign, and our own software, and we judge it by whether the gains hold up after we leave.
Our clients run from mid-sized community hospitals to large academic medical centers. The job is the same either way: lower their operational risk, improve the financials, and leave the team able to keep it running without us.
We built these tools after a cyber attack closed hospitals.
Archer and Anchor came out of a job that didn't end the way we wanted it to.
A 17-hospital system brought us in after a cyber attack knocked its EHR offline. Everyone could see the outage. What was harder to see, and much harder to fix, was what happened to the money over the months that followed: charges that never got captured, claims that stalled, revenue that just never went out the door.
Some of those hospitals never got it back. Recovering the revenue they had lost during the downtime cost more than they could absorb, and a few of them closed for good. The attack made the news. What actually shut the doors was the revenue cycle damage nobody could undo afterward.
We built Archer and Anchor so that would stop happening. Archer finds the gaps before an attack. Anchor keeps the revenue cycle running during one. A hospital should never have to recover from a cyber attack and fight to keep its doors open at the same time.
